Lake Chelan is a great place to be. Located in the middle of Washington, the lake stretches for over 50 miles. Lake Chelan offers many different activities for tourists. This post is geared more for the adventurous Lake Chelan traveler.
Leave Bellingham in a vehicle with a tent and sleeping bag, and food from Haggen to get you through three days. Lake Chelan is about 4 hours and 55 minutes away from Bellingham, so it will be a nice drive between both destinations. When you get to the Lake Chelan area, head to the town of Manson and take a boat out on the lake by renting one from Shorline (1/2 a day for $200). After you return the boat, drive to Chelan to do some exploring around the town. Afterwards, dine at The Fox and Quail restaurant. When evening comes around, drive to Lake Chelan State Park to camp for the night (only $12).
Pack up your camping gear and drive back into Chelan. Keep going until you get to Beebe Springs Wildlife Area, right off highway 97, for a hike. When you get to the turnaround point (4.4 miles round trip), stop to take a break and observe the scenery. After the hike, drive back into Chelan to the Apple Cup Cafe to eat. That evening, camp at Windy Camp Campground (no charge).
On your last day, drive back into Chelan to pick up a bike for the day at LakeRider Sports for about $50. Bike up to Pot Peak (9 miles round trip). When you get to the top of the peak, stop to take a break and enjoy the scenery before turning around to head back down. After you return your bicycle, stop in at another local restaurant called Outlaw BBQ and Steakhouse. Then it's time to head back home!
